MELDINO’S RISING STAR RULES 2011 WE WILL BEGIN ON MAY 7TH. THE ENTRY
COST IS $10.00. YOU WILL BE GIVEN A $5.00 OFF COUPON TO USE TOWARDS YOUR PURCHASE THAT EVENING. THERE
WILL BE THREE WINNERS EACH QUALIFYING ROUND!!! IF YOU QUALIFY IN ANY OF THE QUALIFYING NIGHTS, YOU WILL
NOT NEED TO COMPETE UNTIL THE SEMI-FINALS. YOU ARE ABLE TO COME BACK TO ANY QUALIFYING ROUND TO COMPETE IF YOU DO NOT QUALIFY
IN THE PREVIOUS QUALIFYING ROUNDS. QUALIFYING ROUNDSMay 7TH, May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, June
11th, June 18th
THIS WILL GIVE
US 18 WINNERS. SEMI-FINALS JUNE 25th - 4 WILL BE ELIMINATEDJuly 9th - 4 WILL BE ELIMINATED THE GRAND
FINALE WILL BE ON AUGUST 6th . GRAND FINALEAUGUST 6TH – TOP TEN COMPETE Entrants will be called in the order in which they are registered.
If the
entrant is not present when called, they will be passed over for one song and
called a second time.
If the entrant is still not present they will be passed over
again for one song. Having been passed over
twice, the entrant will be called a
third and final time. If they are still not present, they will be eliminated.
We are
on a time limit so please listen for your name. THE JUDGING
WILL BE - Vocals and Accuracy – Voice control and singing on pitch.

- Presentation – Eye contact, hand and
body movement and how you
handle yourself on stage. 20% - Originality – How you interpret a song and
how much the singer can
make the song his/her own. 15% - Crowd Response – Response from the crowd
after your
performance. 30% - $1.00 vote - Participants are encouraged to have friends and family vote for them
at a $1.00 per vote. This will count as 10% of the vote.
Judges will score the contestants, rating them on a scale of 1 – 10
with
10 being the highest. In the event of a tie, a “sing-off” will be held. Entrant
(s) involved in the
tie will be given 10 minutes to select another song.All scores are final as received from the judges.
Additional rules and eligibility requirements may be announced prior to
the beginning of the contest.
All Participants agree to abide by these rules.
Any violation of these rules shall be grounds for
immediate
disqualification and forfeiture of their prize.
